Did you know that American diners have their own kind of language?
Diner Lingo is a kind of American slang used by cooks and waitstaff. The phrases vary regionally but it’s still pretty fun. Here are some of our favorites:
- Rabbit Food = Lettuce
- Adam and Eve on a Raft = 2 poached eggs on toast
- Nervous Pudding = Jello
- Bow Wow = Hot dog
- Life Preserver = Doughnut
- Put Wheels on It = Make an order to-go
- Looseners = Prunes
I don’t know about you, but some of those sound like pretty good drag names to me.
Some of these names inspired our New Collection. Order now and put wheels on it!
